Daniel Attard, a grassroots social-democrat from Malta, rose from a working-class background to become Mayor at 20.

As an MEP, he focuses on shaping EU policy on transport and sustainable tourism, promoting better connectivity, support for local communities, and fairer rules for short-term rentals. As Vice-Chair for relations with Iran, he is also a strong voice for human rights. Attard brings an island perspective to Brussels, championing balanced and people-centred tourism.
