The Port of Constanța is undergoing one of the most comprehensive Onshore Power Supply (OPS) transformations in the Black Sea region.

This latest milestone confirms the readiness of ShoreLink’s RoRoLink and Special CMS solutions to support diverse vessel types ranging from RoRo and RoPax to container ships and bulk carriers. Developed in collaboration with TIAB and co-funded by the EU’s Connecting Europe Facility (CEF), the project ensures the port meets 2030 AFIR and FuelEU Maritime mandates well ahead of schedule.

The Technology: ShoreLink CMS Solutions

The "ShoreLink" system is a modular, high-voltage interface designed to bridge the gap between the shore-side grid and the vessel's intake. The primary innovation lies in its adaptability; unlike static systems, the RoRoLink series is built for the high-frequency movements and varying deck heights of ferry and cargo operations.

⚡ Technical Specifications: ShoreLink CMS

  • 🔌 Connection Type: High Voltage (HVSC) and Low Voltage (LVSC) support.
  • 📜 Standards: Fully compliant with IEC/IEEE 80005-1 (High Voltage) and 80005-3 (Low Voltage).
  • 📉 Voltage Range: Supports 6.6 kV or 11 kV for large vessels; 400V to 690V for smaller craft.
  • 🔄 Frequency: Dual compatibility for 50 Hz and 60 Hz systems (essential for international fleets).
  • 🏗️ Reach: Telescopic RoRoLink arms provide multi-directional extension to accommodate varying deck heights and tidal swings.
  • 🕹️ Operation: Fully automated cable reeling with remote-controlled precision for a single operator.
  • 🚜 Mobility: Self-propelled mobile units featuring near-zero-turn maneuverability for tight quayside spaces.
  • 🛡️ Protection: Rated IP56/66, specifically engineered for high-salinity and extreme maritime weather.
  • 🚢 Versatility: Designed for a modular "one-size-fits-many" approach—servicing RoRo, RoPax, Containers, and Bulk Carriers.
  • 🇪🇺 Compliance: Engineered to meet the AFIR 90% coverage mandate for TEN-T ports by 2030.

The telescopic arms allow for significant tidal variation and "horizontal reach," ensuring that ships do not need to be positioned with millimeter precision to establish a connection. This reduces docking time and improves safety for shore-side personnel.
