OCEANH2 Panel | From Research to Reality: Accelerating Innovation in Shore Power, Hydrogen and Port Electrification

This panel will examine how promising research, pilot projects and emerging technologies can progress into commercially viable, full-scale port energy systems. Centred on the question, “How do we move from research and innovation to real-world integrated port energy systems?”, the discussion will address the gap between technical development and practical deployment. Panellists will consider technology readiness, grid capacity, infrastructure planning, standards, regulation, investment and the commercial conditions required to scale shore power, hydrogen and port electrification. The session will also explore how ports, universities, technology companies, energy providers and public authorities can work together to convert research outcomes into bankable projects that deliver measurable operational and environmental results.
