Ivan Castillo MP is Malta’s Opposition Shadow Minister for Sustainable Mobility and served for more than five years as Shadow Minister for the Maritime Sector. A Member of the Maltese Parliament since 2022, he has been actively engaged in shaping policy on shipping, ports, logistics, maritime competitiveness and sustainable transport. Through close collaboration with industry stakeholders, he has contributed to discussions on the EU ETS, maritime decarbonisation, digitalisation, workforce development and regulatory reform. Hon. Castillo regularly represents the Opposition at national and international maritime conferences and is committed to promoting practical, evidence-based policies that strengthen Malta’s position as a leading maritime nation while supporting a competitive and sustainable maritime industry.
