Vella.
Dr Stephanie Vella has served as the National Hub for Malta for the WestMED initiative for the past eight years, bringing stakeholders together for the development of maritime related projects. She is currently assisting on two WestMED technical working groups, green shipping and sustainable tourism.
She is also the director of a leading economic consultancy firm, whereby through the course of her work, Dr Vella has worked on a number of projects and consultancy assignments with institutions including the EU Commission, Commonwealth Secretariat, Government ministries and authorities and private sector entities. Of specific importance are the numerous cost benefit assessment on port infrastructure including the recently installed onshore power supply facilities at the two TEN-T ports in Matla. In the course of her research and consultancy work, Dr Vella has been involved in the development of the integrated Maritime Policy for Malta and the Maritime Transport Strategy and has also been involved in an assessment of the sectoral contribution of the maritime sector in Malta. Throughout various assignments Dr. Vella has engaged in discussions within the blue economy sector including organizations from the private and public sector as well as educational institutions.
