Nicholas Tan currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Valletta Gateway Terminals Ltd (“VGT”), a joint venture between Tumas Group and Portek International Pte Ltd (“Portek”), which is headquartered in Singapore and has offices in eight countries throughout Asia, Europe and Africa.
Before his role in VGT, Nicholas Tan held various positions within Portek, a company that specializes in managing various port and terminal operations. He has extensive experience in managing a domestic container terminal in Jakarta, providing consultancy to Port of Ponce Port Authority in Puerto Rico and pursuing business development opportunities for Portek.
Nicholas believes that VGT plays a critical role within the logistics chain in Malta so as to ensure the continued development of Malta’s economy through the facilitation of key raw materials, medical supplies and daily necessities into and out of the country. Through stronger partnership with our key stakeholders, we can create exceptional value to Malta, by maximizing throughput and accelerating growth continuously.
