Juan is a senior technical leader and sustainability executive with more than 30 years of international, multidisciplinary experience leading complex capital projects, advancing
next-generation energy technologies, and driving large-scale decarbonization across the energy, oil and gas, maritime and offshore industries. Recognized for shaping strategic direction and delivering transformative programs that integrate engineering excellence, regulatory rigor and commercial deployment at a global scale.
Currently, Juan serves as Global Sustainability Lead for Power and Energy Storage at the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), where he leads global initiatives in sustainable electrification, advanced battery and hybrid energy storage systems, and port
decarbonization. In this role, he drives the technical and strategic frameworks that nable safe, resilient and low-carbon energy systems, accelerating the transition to sustainable maritime and energy ecosystems worldwide.
